Prior to joining Imani as a Partner, Fareed worked for global Private Banks, such as UBS, Credit Suisse, Citibank NA and Julius Baer across the UK, India and UAE. His main geographical locations of expertise are NRI, NRP, Africa and the GCC regions. Fareed has travelled extensively to Africa and other international financial hubs, and has enjoyed meeting with clients from all industries.

Most recently, Fareed was at Bank Julius Baer from May 2019 to 2021 as Director, Relationship Manager within the team headed by Dr Naveed Ahmed. Fareed’s main clientele came from Sub-Saharan Africa and GCC. From 2013 to 2019, Fareed was an Assistant Vice President at Credit Suisse AG Dubai, working within the Private Banking & Wealth Management division. Here he worked as a Relationship Manager in the Sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa), and Pakistan team. 

Between 2006 and 2010, Fareed was with UBS AG, London, where he was the Associate Director on the Global South Asia Desk. From 2004 to 2006, Fareed worked for Citibank NA London within the Global Consumer Banking Business focusing on the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) business. Fareed was based in Mumbai, India between 2010 and 2013, where he worked for Edelweiss Securities, HDFC Bank as Assistant Vice President and Senior Manager respectively in the Wealth Management Division.

Fareed holds an MBA from University of Kent, UK and is also a SAQ Certified Wealth Management Advisor (CWMA).
